Marty and Bruce White Endowed Scholarship
Established in 2024 by Marty and Bruce White. Bruce began his full-time career at Bank of Travelers Rest in 1972, working alongside his father and bank founder, John White. In 1977, Bruce ascended to president and currently serves as Chairman and CEO. Bruce is steadfast in ensuring the Bank of Travelers Rest remains a relationship-first business. The Bank of Travelers Rest is a community bank committed to the economic, technological and educational progress of our community. It is a family business as well, as Marty’s and Bruce’s four of five children, Betsy, Kelley, Robert and Michael represent a third generation of bank employees. Marty worked for a number of years for Health Care Concepts. She later retired to raise their children and has since volunteered for a number of community organization primarily serving on the Board of the Greenville County Library System.
Students eligible for this scholarship are those enrolled in certificate, diploma, degree, or vocational programs at the College. A student must maintain at least a “C” average or 2.0 GPA at the College, or from previous high school or college academic work if not previously enrolled at the College. The Committee may override this requirement for special circumstances. Preference is given to students from Greenville County who are enrolled in the School of Business and Computer Technology and are pursuing an Associates degree in Accounting, Computer Technology, Management or Marketing.
