South Carolina Upstate Paralegal Association ("S.C.U.P.A.") Scholarship

Founded originally as the Greenville Association of Legal Assistants in 1979, SCUPA has been active in the Upstate of SC for over 25 years. Their members are paralegals with very diverse legal backgrounds and are employed with most large law firms and corporations in the Upstate, as well as many smaller firms and some freelance paralegals. SCUPA also believes in giving back to the communities in which its members work and live. Throughout the years their organization has assisted with needs of many local organiztations, as well as members of their community. SCUPA has been able to foster a sense of community service among its members. SCUPA holds monthly luncheons which are educational and serve the purpose of satisfying Continuing Legal Education requirements. This scholarship will be used to provide funds for students enrolled at Greenville Technical College and will be used to pay eligible educational expenses for recipients, such as tuition, fees, books, and supplies. Students eligible for this scholarship are those enrolled in certificate, diploma, degree or vocational programs at the College. A student must have and maintain a “B” average of 3.0 GPA at the College, or from previous high school or college academic work if not previously enrolled at the College. Preference will be given to students in the Paralegal program.
